Evilo (Evie) Luchsinger, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her home in Port Richey, Florida, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born to Guy Ballard and Cora Martin Ballard on March 21, 1928. She married Kenneth Luchsinger on September 1, 1946 at Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa, and they raised their four daughters in Illinois. She retired to Florida in 1995 and enjoyed many years of warm weather and friends. She was a member of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church.

She leaves four daughters, Jane (Darrel) Turner, Sue (Ed) Richter, Karen (Jim) Dubay, and Mindy Schuler, along with six grandchildren, Mark Turner, Beth McLeod, Ed Richter Jr., Kristen Roche, Kelly Schneider, and Alison Underbakke, nine great grandchildren, and her dear friend and companion of nine years, Jim Mutchler. Also surviving are her sister, Marcella Clark in Mason City, Iowa, and sister-in-law Margene Ballard in Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her husband (1985), sister Izola Torkelson (2008), and brother Martin Ballard (2015).

Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, 7922 FL-52, Bayonet Point, FL 34667; (727) 863-5646. Visitation will take place an hour before the service. Memorials may be made out to St. Mark’s or HPH Hospice.
